IE not clearing subsequent floats

I'm trying to get two divs to float to opposite sides of the page, with text flowing between them. The top of the second (left-aligned) div should be even with the bottom of the first (right-aligned) div. The code below works fine in FF, Chrome, Opera, etc. fine, but they do not clear properly in IE. Both divs appear at the top of the text.If I move the left-aligned div low enough within the text, it works fine in IE, but that's not really a sustainable solution.I've found multiple pages on IE CSS float bugs, but I haven't found anything speaking directly to this.CSSdiv ...

The problem is with the file (or code) templated with ngRoute... here is my code...my app.js:var App = angular.module('App', ['ngRoute']);// configure our routesApp.config(function ($routeProvider) { $routeProvider // route for the home page .when('/', { templateUrl: 'views/home.html' }) .otherwise({ redirectTo: '/' }); $locationProvider.html5...

Is there any reason why you can not use Basic Http Authentication? IMHO devise seems to be an overkill for this usecase. [XXX]

Java/J2EE standard practices and design choices

I have a couple of design/architectural questions that always come up in our shop. I said "our", as opposed to "me" personally. Some of the decisions were made and made when J2EE was first introduced so there are some bad design choices and some good.In a web environment, how do you work with filters. When should you use J2EE filters and when shouldn't you? Is it possible to have many filters, especially if you have too much logic in them. For example, there is a lot of logic in our authentication process. If you are this user, go to this site and if not go to anothe...

Converting PostgreSQL subquery statement into Sequelize query

I have two tables: User and Publications. User has different roles like admin and subscriber. There is a User.hasMany(Publication) and Publication.belongsTo(User) association to allow an admin to create Publications associated to their userId.Here's the tricky part. I have an array of subscribedPublications for each User with a role of 'subscriber'. This is so a subscriber can always have access to Publications included in their subscription.I want to build a query for a subscriber to access an index of their available publications and the relevant columns for it. My proble...

How do you execute SQL from within a bash script?

I have some SQL scripts that I'm trying to automate. In the past I have used SQL*Plus, and called the sqlplus binary manually, from a bash script. However, I'm trying to figure out if there's a way to connect to the DB, and call the script from inside of the bash script... so that I can insert date and make the queries run relative to a certain number of days in the past. I'm slightly confused. You should be able to call sqlplus from within the bash script. This may be what you were doing with your first statementTry Executing the following within your bash script:#!/bi...

Using InProc and Azure AppFabric Cache together

Just a bit of background first. I currently have a site hosted with Windows Azure, with multiple instances and also AppFabric as my sole caching provider.Everything was going great until my traffic spiked earlier this morning. After the instances became overloaded and stopped responding everything came good again once the new instances started. However I started getting messages from AppFabric saying that I was being throttled because there were too many requests in a given hour. Which is fair enough, it certainly was giving it hell.In order to avoid these messages in the fu...
