Visual Studio Performance testing using test mix distribution

This is my first attempt towards performance testing and needs some help. I have been trying to figure out the best approach for my testing. Below is my case:Used 6 use cases (web tests) with the distribution of 35, 25, 10, 10, 10 and 10 percentages respectively in my load test at a constant load of 10 users.I assume that based on the distribution, I have prepared test data (XML) with 4, 3, 2, 2, 2 and 2 sets of data accordingly.I tried with the test iterations options setting it to 15. In this case, web tests don't execute in the distribution manner.Tried with test duratio...

How to prevent VS2008 from saving bookmarks?

VS2008 automatically saves bookmarks and restores them when I reopen the document. How can I tell it to stop saving them. When I open a doc, I want it without any bookmark, as in previous versions of VS.I went twice through the whole options set but couldn't find anything related to bookmarks.TIA. You should be able to write a macro that handles the DocumentEvents or WindowEvents event interfaces. In response to (e.g.) DocumentEvents_OnDocumentOpened, which gets a Document object, you should be able to remove all of the bookmarks.Or, if bookmarks are relative to a window,...

Programatically enforce capitalization in Visual Studio 2008?

What is the easiest way to programatically force capitalization of keywords in Visual Studio 2008?We work with a proprietary command delimited language (like HTML). We are attempting to migrate from an older editor to Visual Studio 2008. Our coding standards are to capitalize the commands. The old editor is customized to recognize the command begin delimiter and to force capitalization until the end delimiter is typed or the escape key is pressed. What's the best way to do that in Visual Studio 2008? Can it be done with a macro or an add-in?(Edited 1-12-2009)Thank you fo...

Output window to file (Visual Studio 2005)

In Visual Studio 2005, how can I save what's written to the output window to a file (I can't change the code writing to the output window, and it writes a lot; I just want to save the output window content to a file)? "File" -> "SaveOutputAs..." let's you save the contents of the output window to a file, but I imagine you want to redirect the output to a file while debugging? I'm still looking for a way to do that myself.. [XXX]I just answered a very similar question here. I'm using this method myself to capture, filter and log debug output to a file on Wind...

F# double click on file creates a copy in VS

If I double click on a source file in Visual Studio F# project and accidentally slightly move the mouse even a tiny bit down (a few pixels suffice), then VS "renames" the file into a copy. For example file SomeSource.fs becomes Copy of SomeSource.fs. The original file at that point "disappears" and the copy is added at the end of the project. The issue happens on all computers that I use and only in F# but not in C#. It seems that there should some setting in VS, which tells it to do that. How to disable that thing? Thanks. Seems bug to me. Created just bug report: https:...

Visual Studio 2017 project referencing old version of Microsoft.AspNetCore.App

I was using .Net Core 2.1.1, and recently updated the SDK to 2.1.401 (.Net Core Runtime 2.1.3). When i create a new project the version of Microsoft.AspNetCore.App under Dependencies > SDK is still 2.1.1. Looking at the properties of Dependencies > NuGet, the package is being referenced from "C:\Program Files\dotnet\sdk\NuGetFallbackFolder\microsoft.aspnetcore.app\2.1.1"I tried installing Package 2.1.3 using NuGet package manager, and it downloaded all dependencies from NuGet despite that i have 2.1.3 already installed on my machine. How do i force existing / new project to ...

Should I install ReSharper 4.5 beta, and using Beta VS plug-ins in general

I'm running ReSharper 4.1 and was wondering if anyone is using 4.5 beta? how stable is it, etc. Also how do people feel about using beta VS plug-ins in general on work systems. I switched to the 4.5 beta two days ago, and for me at least, their claims of less memory usage are valid. I actually had to request a new computer because things were slowing to a crawl, and it looks like it was ReSharper causing it. 2GB of RAM fully used and constantly swapping out to the page file.Of course, our solution has 92 projects in it, so it's not entirely their fault, but the point i...

Visual studio won't debug into referenced DLL (from same solution)

I want to step into it.Any ideas why I might not be able to step into the source code of A?Edit: Additional InfoI do not have 'just my code' checked.I can set a breakpoint in t...
